Annual meeting of the American Medical Association

(7-11.06.2014) I have had the pleasure to this week to attend the Annual Meeting of the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association (AMA). There are three important things to learn from the AMA – the power of organised medicine in influencing national policy and standards of practice of doctors and quality health care and the importance of effective representation in building consensus.

Here AMA members pledge their allegiance to the state, again very important for the integrity of the organisation.

These attributes are indeed key in ensuring the effectiveness of national medical associations.
