World Health Organization (WHO) Fifty-fifth Expert Committee
on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations (ECSPP)
Special session with non-State actors – 6 October 2020
I have pleasure in informing you that the 55th ECSPP will hold a special session for non-State
actors, coordinated from WHO headquarters, virtually, via Cisco Webex from 12:45 to 14:15 hours (local
time Switzerland) on 6 October 2020 prior to the commencement of the 55th ECSPP which will be held
virtually from 12 to 16 October 2020.
The meeting will introduce the various current activities carried out in connection with the
ECSPP covering norms and standards for pharmaceuticals, covering medicines quality assurance,
regulatory guidance, good practices, WHO model schemes and quality control specifications.
The draft agenda for this special session is enclosed for ease of reference. The working language
of the meeting will be English.
On behalf of the Director-General, I have pleasure in inviting your Organization to nominate a
representative to attend this special session with non-State actors.
