World Medical Association Council Meeting

The WMA will hold a Council meeting at the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center, in Buenos Aires, Argentinafrom April 28-30, when physician leaders from national medical associations around the world will debate a number of key issues.

Among these will be policy proposals on the recent outbreak of the Zika virus, euthanasia and physician assisted suicide, boxing and cyber-attacks on health.

A press conference will be held on Wednesday April 27 at 16hrs in the Hall Ramon Carrillo Ministry of Health of the Nation. The speakers will be the Argentina Health Minister, Dr. Jorge Lemus, the President of the Medical Confederation of Argentina, Dr. Jorge Coronel, and the President of the WMA, Sir Michael Marmot. They will speak about the social determinants of health and other global health issues, following a planned meeting beforehand between the Minister and Sir Michael.
