World Medical Association comment on WHO announcement on e-cigarettes

Commenting on today’s World Health Organisation announcement on e
cigarettes, Dr. Mukesh Haikerwal, Chair of the World Medical
Association, said:

‘The use of electronic cigarettes is simply opening up another market
for the tobacco industry pedalling a false notion that this a) reduces
conventional smoking and be is b) a suitable safe alternative to
tobacco.

‘Trapping children for big tobacco by any means, including use of
electronic cigarettes, is sickening predatory practice and should be
condemned and banned.’
