Two autonomous regions and a federally administered area, namely,<br \/>\nPunjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Federally<br \/>\nAdministered Tribal Areas (FATA). Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan.<br \/>\nPopulation<br \/>\nPakistan is the sixth most populous country with a population exceeding 200 million people. It is the<br \/>\n36th largest country in the world covering an area of 796 096 square kilometers.<br \/>\nBordering neighbours<br \/>\nPakistan has a 1046 km long coastline along the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman in the south and<br \/>\nis bordered by India to the east, Afghanistan to the west, Islamic Republic of Iran to the south west<br \/>\nand China in the far north east, respectively. It is separated from Tajikistan by Afghanistan’s narrow<br \/>\nWakhan Corridor in the north, and also shares a maritime border with Oman.<br \/>\nLandscape<br \/>\nPakistan encompasses a rich diversity of landscapes, starting in the north west, from the soaring<br \/>\nPamirs and the Karakoram Range through a maze of mountain ranges, a complex of valleys, and<br \/>\ninhospitable plateaus, down to the remarkably even surface of the fertile Indus River plain, which<br \/>\ndrains southward into the Arabian Sea. It contains a section of the ancient Silk Road and the Khyber<br \/>\nPass, the famous passageway that has brought outside influences into the otherwise isolated<br \/>\nsubcontinent. Lofty peaks such as K2 and Nanga Parbat, in the Pakistani-administered region of<br \/>\nKashmir, present a challenging lure to mountain climbers. Along the Indus River, the artery of the<br \/>\ncountry, the ancient site of Mohenjo-daro marks one of the cradles of civilization.<br \/>\n3<br \/>\nEconomy<br \/>\nPakistan is an agricultural country. Its major exports include agricultural products like cotton, sugar,<br \/>\nrice and textiles.<br \/>\nLanguage<br \/>\nUrdu is Pakistan\u2019s national language with English as the official language. Regional languages<br \/>\ninclude Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, Saraiki, Balti and Shina.<br \/>\nCulture<br \/>\nPakistan’s cultural heritage is very rich as it has inherited the rich cultures of thousands of years old<br \/>\nIndus and Ghandara civilizations.<br \/>\nLocation<br \/>\nIslamabad is the capital city of Pakistan located within the federal Islamabad capital territory. With a<br \/>\npopulation of around two million, it is one of the most beautiful capital cities of the world. The city is<br \/>\nthe political seat of Pakistan and is administered by the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation,<br \/>\nsupported by the Capital Development Authority.<br \/>\nServing as the capital of Pakistan since the 1960s, Islamabad was built according to a carefully<br \/>\norganized plan, divided into sectors along a grid of clean, tree-lined streets. The city is sheltered by<br \/>\nthe Margalla Hills, the foothills of the Himalayas and the home of rare species of leopard, deer, birds,<br \/>\nand even porcupines. Several hiking paths end at Daman-e-Koh and Pir Sohawa. There are picnic<br \/>\nspots with a splendid view of the entire city, including the massive modernist Faisal Mosque and the<br \/>\nRawal Lake.<br \/>\nThings to do: sightseeing and shopping<br \/>\nFaisal Mosque Margalla Hills PirSohawa Daman-e-Koh<br \/>\nPakistan Monument<br \/>\nMuseum<br \/>\nLokVirsa Museum Pakistan Railways<br \/>\nHeritage Museum<br \/>\nPakistan Museum of<br \/>\nNatural History<br \/>\n4<br \/>\nThe venue of the sixty-fourth session of the WHO Regional Committee is the Serena Hotel.
