\nDuties of Doctors in General
\nA DOCTOR MUST always maintain the
\nhighest standards of professional
\nconduct\u2022
\nA DOCTOR MUST practice his profes-
\nsion uninfluenced by motives of
\nprofit.
\nTHE FOLLOWING PRACTICES are deemed
\nunethical;
\na) Any self advertisement except
\nsuch as is expressly authorized
\nby the national code of med-
\nical ethics.
\nb) Collaborate in any form of med-
\nical service in which the doc-
\ntor does not have professional
\nindependence.
\nc) Receiving any money in connec-
\ntion with services rendered to
\na patient other than a proper
\nprofessional fee, even with
\nthe knowledge of the patient.
\nANY ACT, OR ADVICE which could weaken
\nphysical or mental resistanco of a
\nhuman being may be used only on his
\ninterest.
\nA DOCTOR IS ADVISED to use great cau-
\ntion in divulging discoveries or
\nnew techniques or treatment.
\nA DOCTOR SHOULD certify or testify
\nonly to that which he has per-
\nsonally verified.
\nDuties of Doctors to the Sick
\nA DOCTOR MUST ALWAYS bear in mind the
\nObligation of preserving human life.
\nA DOCTOR OWES to his patient complete
\nloyalty and all the resources of his
\nscience. Whenever an examination or
\ntreatment is beyond his capacity he
\nshould summon another doctor who has
\nthe necessary ability.
\nA DOCTOR SHALL preserve absolute secrecy
\non all he knows about his p&tient be-
\ncause of the confidence entru$ted in
\nhim.
\nA DOCTOR HUST give emergency care as a
\nhumanitarian duty unless he is assured
\nthat others are willing and able to
\ngive such care.
\nDuties of Doctors to Each Other
\nA DOCTOR OUGHT to behave to his col-
\nleagues as he would have them behave
\nto him.
\nA DOCTOR MUST NOT entice patients from
\nhis colleagues.
\nA DOCTOR MUST OBSERVE the principles of
\n\u00abThe Declaration of Geneva\u00bb approved
\nby The World Medical Association.

\nAT THE TIME OF BEING ADMITTED AS A
\nMEMBER OF THE MEDICAL PROFESSION:
\nI SOLEMNLY PLEDGE myself to consecrate
\nmy life to the service of humanity.
\nI WILL GIVE to my teachers the re-
\nspect and gratitude which is their
\ndue;
\nI WILL PRACTICE my profession with
\nconscience and dignity;
\nTHE HEALTH OF HY PATIENT will be my
\nfirst consideration;
\nI WILL RESPECT the secrets which are
\nconfided in me;
\nI WILL MAINTAIN by all the means in my
\npower, the honor and the noble
\ntraditions of the medical profession;
\nMY COLLEP.GUES will be my brothers;
\nI WILL NOT PERHIT considerations of
\nreligion, nationality, race, party
\npolitics or social standing to inter-
\nvene between my duty and my patient;
