La Déclaration d'Helsinki (DoH) est le document politique le plus connu de l'AMM. La Déclaration a été adoptée pour la première fois en 1964 et amendée six fois depuis, le dernier amendement datant de l'Assemblée Générale d'octobre 2008. La version actuelle (2008) est la seule version officielle ; toutes les versions antérieures sont caduques et ne doivent être utilisées qu'à des fins historiques. L'AMM remercie tous ceux qui ont apporté des commentaires et des suggestions pour la toute dernière révision (2007-2008) de la DoH.
