Seminar on Climate Change and Health Care

The purpose of the event is to bring together physician leaders and other health actors interested from around the World as well as high-level experts in order to exchange experiences and knowledge on the impact of climate change on health and to develop a global strategy, in particular in the context of the coming 15th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (Dec. 2009), ensuring that health is fully considered in current global debates and actions in this area. The seminar aims also to provide to physicians accurate information and awareness raising tools to advocate at national level along the same lines.

Keynote speakers include:

  1. Dr. Colin D.Butler, Associate Professor, National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, The Australian National University, Canberra, AUS
  2. Dr. Bettina Menne, Medical Officer, Global Change and Health, WHO Regional Office for Europe
  3. Dr. Ray Copes, Physician expert in environmental health, Director of Canadian National Collaborating Center for Environmental Health.
  4. Ms Susan Wilburn, Technical Officer, Occupational and Environmental Health Department of Public Health and Environment, WHO
  5. Dr Dong-Chun Shin, Director of the Korean Medical Association, and Dr. Paul Saoke, Vice President of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE Africa region), will present the perspectives of the regions of Asia and Africa.

Interpretation in English, French and Spanish will be provided.
Conference fee: 90 €/ 45 € per participant according to the World Bank classification of economies.
