Round table at the UN Commission on Human Rights: How to prove
torture?
The IRCT has invited Justice Renate Winter and doctor Frances
Lovemore
to a dialogue about the challenges of fighting impunity by investigating,
documenting and of proving torture. The dialogue will take place
at a
parallel-meeting at the 61st session of the UN Commission on Human
Rights.

Evaluation of four rehabilitation centres - a basis for new
policy?
The European Commission has evaluated four centres within
the EU. The
evaluation of the four centres which is now available to the public,
raises relevant questions for all rehabilitation centres and programmes.

Help for freed prisoners in Gaza
After Israel, as a link in the rapprochement between the Israeli
and
Palestinian authorities, in the past few days has released up
to 500
prisoners from the Israeli prisons; the rehabilitation centre
for
torture victims in Gaza, GCMHP, is faced with handling a great
challenge.

Vacancy at the IRCT: Medical doctor with international experience
to
lead our Programme Unit
As manager of the Programme Unit, composed of 10 staff with
various
professional backgrounds, you will be responsible for assessing
needs
and developing programmes regarding the prevention and rehabilitation
of
torture victims. Capacity building and support to staff in
rehabilitation centres, primarily in the developing world, is
a key role
of the Unit.
