 World Medical Association Resolution Supporting The Ottawa Convention

(Convention on the prohibition of the use, stockpiling, production and transfer of anti-personnel mines and on their destruction)
Adopted by the 50th World Medical Assembly Ottawa, Canada, October 1998


The World Medical Association:

  1. expresses its support for the Ottawa Convention (also known as the landmine ban convention); and

  2. urges its member National Medical Associations to press their governments to sign and ratify the Convention.
