IFHHRO Conference - Friday 14 and Saturday 15 February 2003
"Monitoring the Right to Health, exploring the mandates
and strengthening the cooperation".

The conference consists of two separate but related days.
The conference-day on Friday 14 February is co-hosted
by PHR-UK, is an informal follow-
up of the WHO conference on 10 December 2002, where the WHO and
a number of NGO's
explored policies on implementation of the Right to Health and
cooperation between the
WHO and NGO's.
To this first conference-day, IFHHRO affiliates and observers
are invited, and also
participants of the WHO conference of 10 December will be invited.
The conference-day on Saturday 15 February is organised
in cooperation with the Special Rapporteur on the right to health
(Professor Paul Hunt), the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural
Rights (CESCR) and the Committee on the Eradication of All forms
of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and will discuss the mandates
of the mentioned monitoring agencies and the role which health
and human rights organisations can play. The decision to organise
this brainstorm meeting was taken during the IFHHRO conference
24-26 May 2002 in the Netherlands. To this second conference-day,
IFHHRO affiliates and observers are invited.
